La Venta II

The La Venta II wind power plant in Oaxaca, Mexico, with an 83.3 MW capacity, contributes renewable electricity to the Interconnected Mexican National Grid. The project, featuring 98 wind turbine-generator engines, aims to displace 164,634 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually, totaling 1,152,437 tCO2e over the second crediting period. The reduction in emissions is attributed to the adoption of less polluting technologies in the Mexican energy grid. With negligible greenhouse gas emissions, monitoring leakage is unnecessary for calculating emissions reductions.
